Release 0.3.0


Third time’s the charm: Hanaa 0.3.0 is here!

The main goal of this release is to make Hanaa more approachable. There’s a brand-new default track designed for quicker sessions and an easier start. If the wildlife behaves, you should be able to reach the goal in just a few pushes.

I’ve also tackled some pacing issues. Cars now come to a stop more quickly, transition animations are snappier, and physics have been tuned for greater stability. Power adjustment has been slowed down slightly to give you more precise control. Still plenty to fine-tune, but it’s a step forward.

Looking ahead, the winter track “Marraskuu” is likely getting a full redesign. Right now, it’s too long and too unpredictable. So enjoy it while it lasts.

  • TRACKS: Added the short and easy "Kesäkuu" track, along with related improvements and new features.
  • GAMEPLAY: Tweaked "Syyskuu" to make it less frustrating.
  • GAMEPLAY: Slowed down the power bar for better control.
  • GRAPHICS: New main menu background.
  • GRAPHICS: Updated logo.
  • GRAPHICS: Added Hitchcock zoom effect during power adjustment.
  • GRAPHICS: Cleaned up the car model.
  • GRAPHICS: Added modular board pieces and edge details to track visuals.
  • PHYSICS: Improved gravity.
  • PHYSICS: Smoother car collisions.
  • PHYSICS: Adjusted car damping to stop vehicles sooner.
  • UI: Various canvas and raycast optimizations.
  • UI: Faster in-game transitions.
  • UI: Added navigation between game settings screens.
  • UI: Track difficulty levels are now visible.
  • AUDIO: Added experimental new music tracks.

Fixes:

  • Leave and ready buttons should now behave more reliably in racer selection.
  • Fixed text overflow and various UI layout issues.

Known issues:

  • Controller reconnection detection is currently unreliable.
