It's time for the Easter release of Hanaa โ version 0.2.0 ๐
This update brings some major gameplay features along with important under-the-hood improvements that lay the groundwork for many additions in the future.
That said, some of the changes were a bit invasive, so you might run into occasional hiccups with shaders or input handling. If you spot anything odd, feel free to reach out โ Iโll do my best to smooth things out in the next updates.
As always, Iโd love to hear your thoughts. Feedback of any kind is more than welcome!
New/improvements
- GAMEPLAY: New tiebreak rule: total time used.
- GAMEPLAY: Vertical car movement to avoid overlapping dynamic objects.
- GAMEPLAY: Precision aiming button to make car rotating more accurate.
- PERFORMANCE: All stacked cameras are replaced with renderer features.
- PERFORMANCE: Track height sampling is now asynchronous.
- GRAPHICS: Generic shader to dim objects between the camera and the car.
- GRAPHICS: Enabled light volume probes to improve lighting.
- GRAPHICS: New car models.
- GRAPHICS: Post-processing: depth of field.
- GRAPHICS: Post-processing: anti-aliasing.
- AUDIO: Wheel roll is played per-tire.
- AUDIO: Screech sound.
- AUDIO: Chassis collision sounds.
- AUDIO/UI: More UI sounds.
- UI: Timeout counter is now improved and clearly visible.
- UI: Retro font and more unified font sizes.
- UI: Responsiveness should be improved across the board.
- UI: Rule texts cleanup.
Fixes
- Driver head should stay inside the car instead of coming through the bottom.
- Car no longer rises up to the skies at certain situations.
- Input should no longer have dependencies to resolution or FPS.
Known issues
- Entering track selection sometimes causes a delay. Probably something to so with shader compilation issues.
- Player selection's leave-button isn't updated properly.
- Mouse aiming may occasionally stutter. Wasn't able to reproduce it reliably anymore, but turning off vsync should help.
